Another Recall: Stryker Rejuvenate Hip Implants
The Stryker Rejuvenate Hip Systems™ have failed. Stryker has recalled its Rejuvenate Modular and ABG II modular-neck hip stems. The reason given by Stryker is that this device undergoes unacceptable levels of fretting and/or corrosion that “may result in adverse local tissue reactions”.

The Rejuvenate and ABG II Hip Impants Can Kill A Person's Tissue
In plain language too many people are experiencing infections and the destruction of soft tissue at the implant location. When Stryker’s recalled hip frets or corrodes, tissue dies. Infections set in and the implants have to be surgically removed.
In some patients this process occurs in as little as nine months after they were first implanted. And for those patients who’ve received an implant in the last couple of months, they now wonder what the future holds for them.
The worst part of all of this, some patients may have mild or no symptoms. These patients are faced with the hardest decision. They will have to weigh the risk of undergoing a revision surgery. They will have to decide whether to take implant out right away or wait until the device fails and causes them metal related toxicity issues. This is a decision I would never want to have to make.
When Will Companies Learn
In recent memory we have had recalls by other medical device manufactures. Sulzer Orthopedics recalled some of their hip products, DePuy recalled its ASR™ model. Now we have to add Stryker’s Rejuvenate Hip Systems™ to the list. That means thousands of people have been made to suffer unnecessary physical pain, medical expense, time away from work and family and the list goes on.
When the DePuy ASR ™ was recalled The DiCello Law Firm co-chaired the first National Conference to educate lawyers and victims from across the United States of the implications of that product’s shortcomings. We hoped that other manufactures would learn from the DePuy ASR ™ story. We hoped we wouldn’t experience another recall with hundreds to thousands more patients calling us with stories of suffering and loss.
Unfortunately here we are again. Many patients who had the Stryker modular hip implant are faced with that decision.
The DiCello Law Firm is dedicated to working with individual patients to help to prove all the harms and losses they have suffered as a result of the Stryker Rejuvenate hip implant. With the help of C. Calvin Warriner of Searcy Denney Scarola Barnhart & Shipley PA and John Gomez from the Gomez Law Firm , The DiCello Law firm will do what it takes to help people affected by this recall. We believe that with our experience and passion for justice we can help put those affected by the recalled Strker hip implant lives back together.
We have spoken with and represented many victims of the defective, recalled Stryker hip. We invite you to join our cause and help us by telling victims that you love to call us. We want to be part of the solution.
